About us
My dream is to provide a rural retreat for people where they ‘get back to nature’. A space where people feel good about themselves, where they have time to relax and recharge.

Rewilding
I'm rewilding the habitat at the finca so that both humans and nature thrive and flourish!
Nature and animals are a huge part of my life at Finca La Cantarera. Horses, donkeys, goats, dogs, ducks and chickens make up my menagerie – my chickens and ducks will happily share an egg or two, subject to their laying schedule!
My animals live a natural life, in herds, flocks and packs, they are naturally inquisitive and will likely be curious to see you.
Sustainability
As we become ever more conscious of protecting our environment, in May 2022 I undertook a solar power project installing solar panels and batteries. The entire finca is sustainably powered with our own 'green' energy.
At the end of the 2025 season I was able to purchase a wood chipping machine. This means I no longer have to burn the forestry residue, when we maintain our fire breaks in the land. And we get to 'keep the goodness' in the land.

The Finca's story....
I proudly bought Finca la Cantarera in the autumn of 2016, moved in and got started! Bit by bit the apartments were renovated, whilst I still did my 'corporate day job', and the finca as I know it now emerged
- 2017 Levante and Poniente apartments were carefully renovated and improved.
- 2017 A vegetable garden was created to grow organic veggies.
- 2017 The duck and chicken house was repaired and acquired new residents .
- 2017 Guapa and Gabriella (the donkeys) and Quijote (the horse) were adopted from a rescue center.
- 2019 Fences were repaired so that some 'retired from milking' lady goats could help with maintaining areas of inaccessible land.
- 2018 The Farmhouse apartment was lovingly refurbished in a rustic style.
- 2021 The mains water supply was re-piped from town and improvements in water pressure and storage made.
- 2021 The rewilding project started, I noted an increase in biodiversity across the finca
- 2022 The solar power installation happened, giving us green energy.
- 2024 Slow internet was replaced with fast internet and smart TVs
- 2025 Purchase of an industrial wood chipping machine. No more burning of forestry residue.
